If you live in Bombay, chances are that you have seen ads for the Dove Elixir Hair Oils just about everywhere! Needless to say, we were excited to try these as soon as they were available! So, while we were out with Cousin Dolly yesterday, we bought ourselves a bottle of Dove Elixir Hair Oil in Hibiscus and Argan Oil.
We used these in the two ways suggested by Dove- Holly as a conventional hair oil and me as a leave-in conditioner.
Here are our thoughts:
1. The packaging (as you can see from the pics) is so pretty! The colourful bits at the bottom of the bottle are actual flower petals! So pretty!
2. The fragrance is sweet and pleasing. I am allergic to most strong fragrances, so this is a big deal for me! I can't stand the smell of some jasmine or almond hair oils, so this hit the spot just right!
3. As a hair oil, the Dove Elixir is not as greasy as the conventional hair oil, which makes it perfect for a 30 minute type oiling session before a quick shower. The oil comes off easily, which is such a blessing!
4. As a leave-in, you need to use very little, else your hair will look chipku and oiled! So use a tiny dollop and you'll be fine!
Recommended for: Quick pre-shower oiling. Be careful if you are using as a leave-in. You need very little.
The Dove Elixir is definitely worth trying! If you do try the other variants, do share your thoughts with us!
Beauty Buzz is a new feature we are thinking of doing. We do try a lot of new products and thought it would be a good idea to share our thoughts here.
